Subjects include: correspondence between Williams and other U.S. editors; memo (June 15, 1964) describing tactics of John Rousselot in dealing with anti-JBS members of a Monrovia audience; Robert Notson, Editor of The Oregonian, wrote to Williams, "Otis Chandler's statement (condemning JBS) was forthright and courageous....I thought I would not see the day when conservatives attacked the Times." The letters filed here show strong support for The Times stance.

    Approx. 10 items - letter, 9/19/1940, from Willis Booth of New York to Harry Chandler, with attached NY Times editorial of same day endorsing Wendell Willkie for president, which Booth refers to as "a masterpiece" ; letter to HC from his Editor L.D. Hotchkiss, discussing outlook for Republican candidates for president in 1940 - Hotchkiss refers to "the great majority" of voters as "unthinking... rabble" ; article copies, 1938 & 1940, on the "contempt case."
