A chain of islands stretches across the South Pacific, with note, 'Insulas eße a nova Guinea usque ad Fretum Magellanicum, affirmat Hernandus Galego, qui ad eas explorandas missus fuit a Rege Hispaniae, Anno 1576.' It is a rare specimen of the early type of decorative map." McLaughlin identifies this as State 2, provides appeared in and place of production information.
