    In notes for that map Kashnor notes, "Very rare. The cartographer follows the map of Captain John Smith, published in 1612. The next after the above map was again issued by Smith in his Virginia Discovered, 1625." Kashnor dates as [1619]. Others have added manuscript guesses to this copy of 1628 and 1630. Date as established by Burden and Van der Krogt based on pagination on verso. State 1 of map, according to Burden; appeared in according to Van der Krogt (atlas 1:312). This map is a variant of Blaeu's 1662 map, Kashnor dates as 1667. Van der Krogt dates between 1662 and 1672. Map can be seen in situ in RB 74701. Surrounded by artwork, allegorical figures.     See also Museum Bookstore 093:493 where the following notes describe this map. Kashnor notes, "Locates Nieuw Netherland Territory, with Nieu Amsterdam on Manhattan, and Hellegat, also Nieu Plimouth and Briston in Nieu England." McCorkle gives 1635 date, suggests that Lake Iricoisiensis is confusion between Lake Champlain and Lake Winnepessaukee. Map was first published in 1635, and the Dutch text on the verso, along with the signature, indicate the same date (Van der Krogt, map 9310:2; Burden, map 241).
